6 Tips for Managing Multiple Sclerosis
Many MS patients report that their symptoms get worse when their body temperature rises. Anything from hot or humid weather to a fever to a hot bath can lead to an increase in body temperature. As such, MS patients must take steps to stay cool:
- Stay in air-conditioned areas when it’s too hot and humid outside.
- Use oscillating fans indoors.
- Use products that keep you cool during exercise or activity. Such products may include neck wraps, vests, bandanas, etc.
- Wear lightweight, breathable clothing.
- Drink cold beverages for temporary relief.
- Swim in cool pools
