Bathroom Safety Tips
Molds are microscopic organisms that live on plant or animal matter and spread spores through the water and air. Shower stalls, curtains and bathroom tiles can be breeding grounds for mold, according to the CDC. Mold can usually be seen or smelled, and grows wherever there is sufficient moisture. Symptoms of mold exposure include nasal congestion, eye irritation, respiratory problems, coughing, throat irritation, rash and headache. To get rid of mold, the CDC recommends first identifying where the the source of moisture is, then using gloves, diluted detergent, a rag and dusk mask to discard or clean all affected areas. If there is a severe mold problem in your bathroom, call in a professional.
