Health Benefits of Cycling
Biking is a great, low-impact way to get in shape! While running is also a great workout, your entire body weight is thrust into the ground with every step when you pound the pavement. According to BBC News, however, around 70 percent of your body weight goes through the saddle and handlebars instead of through your ankles when you’re biking. For those with joint or knee problems, it may also be a safer alternative to running or any other high-impact aerobic activities. But make sure to speak with your doctor before starting any new exercise regimen.
