How Obesity Affects Health
Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) occurs when there is an excessive buildup of fat within liver cells, not caused by alcohol use. It is linked to obesity and can lead to serious liver problems. NAFLD is now the most prevalent liver disease in the US. While most people have no symptoms, right upper abdominal pain is the most common symptom.
