Simple Steps to Reduce Women’s Cancer Risk
Obesity is associated with heightened risk of developing several types of cancer, including cancer of the pancreas, esophagus, colon, rectum, and the breasts, among others. A 2007 study showed that, in some cases, reported cancer attributed to obesity was as high as 40 percent. Obese, postmenopausal women have a 30 to 60 percent increased risk of developing breast cancer.
