American actress Mary Tyler Moore, best known for her roles in television sitcoms, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes during her time on The Mary Tyler Moore Show. In an interview with USA Today, Moore talked about her life changes and dealing with her condition every single day. In fact, Moore knows firsthand the potential complications stemming from diabetes after losing much of her vision and nearly having to undergo an amputation. It wasn’t until after her string of complications that Moore started to take her disease management seriously.
