The Sunscreen Breakdown: What's Really in the Bottle?

According to the Skin Cancer Foundation (SCF), most people only get about a quarter of the sun protection they need. Mineral sunscreens can be applied before sun exposure because they start working quickly. However, chemical sunscreens may need a 15 minute head start, according to the SCF. No matter what kind of sunscreen you use, try to reapply it every two hours — especially if you’re sweating or getting wet.
