Tips for a Healthy Thanksgiving Dinner

Avoid the Turkey’s Tail

Popular among many Pacific Islands Americans, meat from the turkey tail contains the greatest amount of fat and cholesterol of any part of the bird. According to the University of Michigan Institute for Social Research, the tail is an oily gland located at a turkey's rear. The oil secreted is what a turkey uses to preen its feathers. Simply skip sampling this part of the holiday bird and stick to the white meat.
