People who eat a diet full of dark, leafy greens like kale, broccoli, spinach, cabbage and Brussels sprouts have a lower risk for stomach, prostate and lung cancer. Kale is a top choice because it’s rich in phytonutrients called indoles, which stimulate liver detoxification and help fight cancer. And what about the ever-popular green bean casserole? This year, try sauteing fresh or frozen green beans in a tablespoon of extra-virgin olive oil, a quarter cup of sliced almonds, a clove of minced garlic, a teaspoon of lemon juice, and a dash or two of salt.
