Yellow nail syndrome is exactly like it sounds: a yellowish discoloration of the nails. Yellowed nails may detach from the nail bed or lack a cuticle. This may be caused by swollen hands, but yellowed nails can also be a sign of respiratory disease such as chronic bronchitis.
