People who are around blood samples, such as healthcare workers, should be especially careful to avoid exposure to blood from someone with hepatitis C. Also, people should never share needles or get tattoos or body piercings from someone who doesn’t have a permit or license. Practicing safe sex can also prevent the spread of hepatitis C.
